Paul is licenced as a Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant by the Department of Internal Affairs, and is committed to providing couples the option of a service which respects their wishes while complying with all legal requirements. Each aspect of the service, including the vows, music, participation by friends and family, and the degree of formality - even the use of humour - can be individually tailored to the preferences of the couple.

Paul specialises in secular services done in a subtle and tasteful way. He has a range of service options to choose from - from the traditional wedding to the most modern civil union - all of which can be modified to include any cultural components the couple feel is relevant to them. For instance, a couple with Scottish heritage recently chose to include a quiach ceremony (sharing their first dram of Scotch whisky together from a traditional silver cup) to honour their Celtic ancestry.

As a member of the rainbow community himself, Paul particularly enjoys the opportunity to perform services for LGBTIQA couples, but of course is willing to help any couple on their special day.

Weddings and civil unions can be a very expensive business, and the last thing any couple needs is additional cost. Some celebrants charge a considerable sum for their services. Paul's fee will be agreed in advance, it will be modest, and it will be in proportion to the complexity of the service and the means of the couple. Paul chooses to perform weddings and civil unions as a public service and donates his fee to Commonwealth Youth New Zealand, a registered charity.

If you would like to discuss options and arrangements, please do get in touch with Paul - bearing in mind there are some legal requirements around paperwork, so advanced notice is required (even for the simplest of services).

Most couples will want to meet several times before their happy day to run through the nuances of the service and get things just right for them.

Paul can dress as formally as the couple require.
